GOVERNANCE

The Research and Development Cell of the University shall carry out different activities to fulfill its objectives with the help of a Research Council and different committees.

Research Council

The Committee shall facilitate research strengthening and promotion in the University, identification of thrust areas for research in various USS/Centres, research guidance and monitoring through different activities including interaction with various stakeholders of the University, creating enabling provisions in research policies for recruitment of research personnel, procurement of equipment, and financial management with adequate autonomy to the Principal Investigator(s) and disseminate research out comes to stake holders and the public atlarge, as well as monitoring and overseeing research progress to ensure a timely completion of the projects as per schedule. The committee also shall provide inputs / suggestions about the various research promotion schemes of the University as well as the Ph.D. programme of the University.

Collaboration, Consultancy, Community Committee

The Committee shall act as a facilitator for networking & collaborative research at the national and international level with research, development and engineering organizations, institutions, associations, NGOs, government bodies, as well as encourage collaborative research and consultancy with industry. The Committee may also encourage formation of research clusters to bring researchers, faculty, students, scholars, and Post- Doctoral Fellows within and outside the University for joint research projects to avail national and international funding opportunities. The Committee shall organize events like capacity-building and capacity-guiding programms, research internships and researcher mobility programmes. The Committee shall also take initiatives to sensitize the research community to understand the importance of integrity and ethics, and comply with ethical codes of research and publishing practices at institutional, national and global levels.

Product Development, Monitoring and Commercialization Committee

The Committee shall organize events to create awareness & exposure about product/technology development, designing & prototype development along with the hands on training on associated advanced techniques and technologies. It shall also organise training programmes in the domain of technology management and technology commercialisation.and take initiatives to establish product/technology development networks. It shall create system for enabling commercialization of research and technology transfer. The Committee shall catalyse and facilitate innovation, incubation, entrepreneurship and start-ups.

The IPU-IPR Cell

The roles of the IPU-IPR Cell is to sustain and grow innovation and creativity, foster institute industry linkages and entrepreneurial culture for the betterment of the society and also provides guidance, support and resources to all GGSIPU University Delhi personnel and facilitates protection and deployment of intellectual property.
