“We keep moving forward, opening new doors, and doing new things, because we're curious and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths.”

In keeping up with this ideology of Walt Disney, The University’s Dwarka Campus unveiled its newly renovated Students’ Canteen. The new canteen was inaugurated by Professor Anil K. Tyagi, Vice Chancellor, Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University on the 14th of January, 2015. It is no secret that the canteen of any college or university is the hub for all socialising. With an increased seating capacity and centralised air conditioning, the new canteen proves to be a very comfortable hangout spot for the students of USS. According to Mrs. Gayatri Sahu, Member of the Canteen Comittee, “The idea of the new canteen is based upon how it will be beneficial for students; we have made modifications accordingly.” We also talked to a few students present. Pranav of USICT said, “The new canteen is quite spacious and the better facilities and central air conditioning will definitely add to the eating experience.”
When asked for his comments, Prof. A.K. Tyagi said, “Considering the number of students in our campus, the earlier capacity of 75 students was not enough, besides other issues. Now, at least 150 students can be accommodated and we’ve also made improvements to meet certain standards in terms of aesthetics, cleanliness and maintenance.” While at the inauguration ceremony, we talked to a few faculty members, asking them about their views on the new canteen. “I think it is a great transformation. The students will have a nice time here along with the good facilities and I am very happy to see the renovations” said Dr. Meenakshi Handa of USMS. Dr. N. Raghuram from USBT said, “I think the new canteen reflects the student friendly attitude of the University. They are being provided comforts not only during studies but also during relaxation.”
