Econometrics Workshop

The University School of Management Studies organized a week long workshop on ‘Basic Econometrics’ with the intension to provide participants with the conceptual knowledge of Econometrics and application of econometric techniques in academia and research. The workshop was conducted from 19th to 24th December, 2014 with over 50 participants from across the country taking part. It was the second workshop in continuation organized by USMS, the previous one being organized in the academic year 2013-2014.
The workshop was held from 10 am to 4 pm on all six days, with each day being divided into three sessions of 1-2 hours each. The key highlights of the workshop were the practical sessions and the discussions on topics like underlying assumptions of statistical tools, errors in research and many more. The course content was delivered from a pool of experts on the subject of Econometrics from reputed academic institutes like IITs, IIMs and NITs. Experts from the industry were also present to supplement the practical aspects of the course contents.
Prof. A.K. Tyagi, Vice Chancellor of the University was the patron of the workshop with Prof. Sanjeev Mittal, Dean of USMS acting as the Convener. The event was coordinated by Dr. Ashish Kumar and Dr. Sanchita of USMS. The Organizing Committee consisted of Dr. Gagan Deep Sharma, Ms. Bharti, Mr. Gaurav Talan and Ms. Sinthiya, all from USMS.
