There are many hallmarks of the academic, disciplinary and physical environments of a University with a positive climate. GGSIPU is situated away from the hustle bustle of the city surrounded by green belt around it. The ambience inside the campus contributes to the academic learning of the student equally like the curriculum. GGSIPU campus provides a quiet and calm environment.


The University has taken several initiatives to keep the campus green and free from pollution. Some of these are:
  1. Restricted entry of automobiles
  2. Use of Bicycles/ Battery powered vehicles
  3. Pedestrian Friendly pathways
  4. Ban on use of Plastic
  5. Landscaping with trees and plants
  • Entry of vehicles in the campus is highly restricted and the vehicles installed with the RF-ID sensor based vehicle are allowed entry and exit in the campus. Besides, the entry is restricted in the administrative areas but is prohibited in the academic areas. The signage like 'No vehicle beyond this point' is visible at relevant points of the teaching blocks.
  • Dwarka Campus of University has about 25 acres of soft area, about 2500 species of various plants trees, shrubs, herbs and planting bed for 40000-50000 flowers, pots etc.
  • The pedestrian friendly tiled pathways have been crafted with hedges on both sides to enable people walk in the campus thereby safeguarding them from any possible harm.
  • In order to maintain the green environment as well as restrict noise pollution, the use of bicycles is encouraged for moving around the campus. University has a battery operated Golf cart to move inside the campus which is quite large and is used by old and senior citizens as well as physically handicapped visitors in the university.
  • University campus has been declared no-smoking campus and certified as tobacco free campus.
  • The quality policy has mandated the ban on one time use plastic in the campus. To spread awareness on this, signage has been pasted around the campus. The canteen has also been advised not to use any plastic bottles.
  • The campus has been declared 'No smoking zone'.
  • The landscaping of the campus has been done with artistic and ornamental structures around, a herbal garden, Japanese garden, rose garden, shrubs, trees and plants. The central vista is decorated with a unity symbol ‘hands joined together’ to motivate people to collaborate. The green areas are demarcated with green fencing as well as wired fencing.
  • The Academic Council of the University has approved the planting of a tree by every student and staff each year to sensitize them towards green initiatives.
