The Publication Club of Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, under the extent of Srijan society for creative expression organized an orientation program for students of various courses at the University premises on September 12th, 2016 at the E block auditorium. The objective of the program was to make the students aware of the activities organized by the Publication Club and to provide them a platform where they can show their hidden talents and put them under efficient utility.
Dr. Amit Ahuja and Dr. Rajeev Dwivedi, Associate Professors from USE, also the faculty coordinators of the club inaugurated the program with their motivating speeches. Dr Amit Ahuja appreciated the efforts of all the participants of Mehfil e-Mushaira ,the one of its kind online mushaira, held via the facebook page of the e-newsletter ConnectUSS on September 10th 2016 from 9pm to 11pm having Theme- “RAIN or BAARISH”, declaring Azain Ahmad, a student of USCT as the e-Poet of September; amongst the 25 entries received within the span of two hours.

The President of the club, Tanmay Bhatt (USCT) and chief editor Srishti Sharma (USCT) warmly welcomed the students. The Vice-President, Geetanshu Sand (USAP) and the publicity head Rahul Verma (USCT) briefed the students about the existing publications of the club and their future plans. Garima Jaitly (USICT), the technical head and Azain Ahmed (USCT), the general secretary introduced the students to different groups regarding all the upcoming projects and required arenas such as writing, editing, photography, reporting and web designing. It was a wonderful experience to be a part of the program.
“I’ve been a part of the club since 2014. I have seen it nurture from the roots. It feels amazing to see such an enthusiastic lot wanting to work for the club next and the college first! I’m very excited!”, said the bubbly consultant of the club, Surbhi Kaul (USBT).
