About IASA

IASA- International American Studies Association was founded on June 1, 2000, by twenty-two scholars from around the world, committed to the study of America—regionally, hemispherically, nationally, and transnationally. Convened by Professor Djelal Kadir (Penn State University, USA) at the Rockefeller Foundation's Conference and Study Center in Bellagio, Italy, there were participants from twelve countries and members of eleven national and multinational American Studies Associations at the Convention. The objective of IASA is to further international exchange of ideas and information among scholars across the world and disciplines with a focus on America.
