The Institute of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (IETE) is a professional society devoted to the advancement of science and technology. It was founded in 1953.
The society serves its 45,000 members both individuals and industries/organizations through its 44 centers spread worldwide. The Government of India, Minority of Science and Technology and Department of Industrial Research have recognized IETE as a scientific and Industrial Research Organization (SIRO).
This society was set up to help professionals achieve a competitive edge in the corporate market place. IETE co-ordinates and disseminates technical knowledge.
IETE is a society run by its members. Student members organize several technical events to equip and update themselves with the dynamically changing technical environment. IETE also engages in socially relevant programes through schemes that are supported by the Government of India.
IETE membership is available at different levels based on the applicants academic achievement and practical experiences in electronics , telecommunication ,IT and related areas . Applicants are invited the highest membership grade they are qualified for.
