The Commonwealth Legal Education Association (CLEA) has been organizing the moot court competition in which teams of students from different universities of the Commonwealth countries compete for the turn bull shield. This year Commonwealth International Moot Court Competition is in the month of November.
A moot court is an extracurricular activity at many law schools in which participants take part in simulated court proceedings, which usually involves drafting briefs and participating in oral arguments. The moot court competition has grown over the years and attracts the finest talents from the commonwealth countries, providing platforms for students to participate, interact and learn from each other. For the year 2014 the national rounds for India are being conducted by the Chanakya National Law University, Patna from 14th to 16th November 2014. CNLU Vice Chancellor A Lakshminath said "It is a matter of great prestige for us to host this event in which premier institutions from India, Bangladesh, Pakistan and Sri Lanka are going to participate.â€
It is a matter of pride for University School of Law and Legal Studies, GGSIPU, that three of our intellective students Anushkha Arora, Nagma Khan and Shreyansh Singh are going to take part in the National level competition which will be held from 14th to 16th November. They will be competing with students from countries like Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.
After the final rounds, the best performing teams will get an entry to the final round of the Commonwealth Moot that will be held in union with the 19th Commonwealth Law Conference from April 14th to 16th 2015 next year in Glasgow, Scotland.
We wish our participants all the very best, may they learn, compete and win the shield for IPU and for our country.
