·         Lighting and fans should be adequate and in working condition.

 


 

b)       Drawing Halls/Studios

 

Carpet area @ 2.6 sqm carpet area per student for drawing class of 30 students

·         One drawing hall required for First year batch

·         The distance between the blackboard and the first row of students should not be less than 3 meters (about 10 ft).

·         Blackboards should be of adequate size and of good quality (made of glass or plastic coated)

·         Lighting and fans should be adequate and in working condition.

 

c)       Central Library

Carpet area @ 0.5 sqm per student in the Institution

·         Reading room and stack area should be separated from each other

·         Lighting and fans should be adequate and in working condition.

 

d)       Computer Center

 

100 sqm for a batch of 20 students

·         There should be glass cabin for computer center staff.

·         The Center should be well lighted and air- conditioned.

·         UPS should be located outside the Center.

 

e)       Workshops

 

Basic Mechanical Workshop & Material Stores

·         Shops corresponding to the First Year curricula should be available.

·         Shops should be well lighted.

·         Sufficient exhaust fans should be provided in all shops.

·         Safe drinking water and toilet facilities (separate for male and female students) should be provided in the workshop complex.

·         Waste disposal must be environment friendly.

·         All shops must have updated first aid boxes.

·         All foremen should be tested for skill in giving first aid.

·         All shops and stores must have at least 2 sets of appropriate type of fire extinguishing equipment. Expiry of these may be checked.
